A client recently expressed interest in my grading skills (that is the manipulation of colours and tones to create a look) with regards to their proposed wedding pictures. Having seen some of my TV commercial work which I had graded,  they wanted to see how their wedding photos would look if they were treated with a hand coloured or art deco feel. The wedding will be a vintage wedding, possibly at Belle Epoque and naturally the couple are keen to see how the theme could be continued into the grading of the wedding photos. Belle Epoque in Knutsford, Cheshire is a fantastic location which I will look at in more depth in a later post. So after a quick play, here are just a few test shots using wedding photos of a wedding at the Didsbury House Hotel and Manchester Town Hall.

While not suitable for every shot due to lighting variations (this is a wedding and cannot be lit like a film set with a constrant unchanging lighting set up) I think the grade adds an extra dimension to the wedding photos.
