Children at Weddings: Some of favourite shots.

Manchester Wedding, St Wilfred's, Northenden

Some of the greatest wedding photos involve children. Rarely camera shy or distracted by a photographer their energy and enthusiasm always leap out from the picture. Below are some of my favourite children photographys from last year's wedding season.

Christmas Wedding at Manchester Town Hall and The Midland Hotel Part 3: The Ceremony

Manchester Town Hall, Wedding Hall

Lets move onto the wedding which was at Manchester Town Hall. As ever Manchester Town Hall was a slendid venue and even more striking decked out in Christmas decorations and winter wedding colours. For me a beautiful final touch was the use of candles on tall candlelarbra which ment that I could shoot through these to amazing effect. Ben and Catherine make a wonderful couple.

Bridal Fashion Shoot: Sneak Peak

dressblog (1 of 1) (3).png

In my last blog I mentioned that I was off to shoot a bridal fashion shoot at Manchester Town Hall for Elizabeth Bethune Couture. This is just a sneak preview as I work on my photos and get them ready for a variety of publicity. A big thank you to Dilan and Lisa who did the hair and make-up. An amazing team who were invaluable. I will blog about them more sooner. Keep you posted.

I am looking forward to a bridal fashion shoot this weekend which will feature a dress designed by Elizabeth Bethune. The above picture is a vintage dress restored by her for a wedding at Manchester Town Hall. I will post a full report after the pictures have been delivered to print.

Featured Company: Dolce Vita Event Management

DV Events, Dolce Vita, Hayley Gallagher, Melissa Derbyshire

A few weeks ago I popped to see Melissa Derbyshire and Hayley Gallagher, who both run Dolce Vita Event Management. Dolce Vita is a wedding and event planning service covering the UK and the globe. Added to this they also provide a concierge service and on your behalf can pretty much organise anything from gig tickets to bespoke holidays. They aim to take the pressure of organising your event, trip or wedding.  Melissa and Hayley bring a little extra something to the table though.

Photoamor features on Boho Weddings and Events website

A recent wedding in Nottingham has been featured on the Boho Wedding Blog. It's a great article with content written by the bride and gives a fantastic insight into preparing a more community and arts based wedding. Take a look and also have a look at the Boho site as a whole. It's owner Kelly Hood is certainly in the know when it comes to organising such stylish and quirky weddings.

Wedding Photos: The Sky's The Limit

Wedding Photo, Nottingham, Wedding Photography, Manchester, Cheshire

I once read that you should never include the sky in wedding photos. I disagree and while bright blue skys can be too glossy and postcardy in feel, making the sky a feature of your location can have dramatic and emotive results.

Turquoise Restaurant, Cheadle

Quite by accident I came across a fantastic restaurant in Cheadle. Turquoise is a restaurant that serves Turkish and Mediterranean food and what fantastic food it is too. Service was swift and friendly and the place clean and stylish. I'll get to the food in a minute. I always deem a restaurant or bar to be great if it serves non-alc beer. Dull I know but as someone who often eats out because of being on a commission drinking beer or wine is not an option. So top marks to Turquoise. On to the food.

Magic Hour in Knutsford

Magic Hour in Knutsford

As I have mentioned in the previous entry, this blog is about places, people, food and things I have had the opportunity to photograph on the road, outside of my usual wedding photography commissions. Visiting locations you are going to photograph means that you are exposed to different light and times of the day than you might get on the actual day of the shoot. Wedding photography is split very much between organising a shoot and editing and grading (creative and practical colour tweeks and correction) the wedding photos.
